Afrobeats musician Tungi has been at his craft only since 2022. But these two years have been nothing short of eventful. And the most glaring of the milestones he has attained since then is his new EP that just came out this Friday 26th; “Life of Sound”. We’ll begin from there and work our way backwards, then forward again perhaps. And no, this is not a review of the EP. We’ll be sure to put that out very soon. For now what we’ll do is to navigate the air surrounding its release.
Word out by mouth & X is, it’s quite the experience. Our eyes even caught some big guns raving about it. Must be nice! On the real though, Tungi’s not gotten this traction by shere wishing and vibes (though he’s got plenty of the latter). It’s been a story of growth as his catalogue attests.
For one, he’s been intricately deliberate about his sound. From merging aspects of hip-hop & RnB into his craft, to mastering the balance between a youthful vigor and a graceful soulfulness. While at he’s situated himself somewhere artistically attractive to draw in fans while still affording himself the freedom to experiment. We highly recommended a listen to his two previous EP’s too, “The Pearl of Africa Vol 2” and the very first in the duology, for a picture of his impressive trajectory.
Being the speculators we are, we have a few things to say about the direction we perceive him to be taking based on all current indicators. Be sure to catch that in a more indepth piece on him which will also concurrently be the review of his newest EP. Stay on the look.
