Genre-fusing, indie-incined artist Kezerod, who’s concurrently our creative lead, dropped his second single “And She Calls” in collab with dynamic rapper Matt Travers last Friday. It’s a taste of his upcoming EP #WorldsYetToBeConquered. This isn’t a review of the tune. I mean it’d be lowkey puffpiece-y & gimmicky for us to do one about an in-house act. But rather, this is an introductory lead-in as to how the current single drops us into the thick of the entire project’s concept.
Sonically speaking, “And She Calls” kinda defies categorization. While its melodic skeleton has indie/alt undertones, it has an unpolished yearning folksiness to it, and a percussive carpet that instills a subtle Afro vibe to it all.
#WorldsYetToBeConquered, from which the track thematically originates, is slated to be a concept EP, or a mini-concept album if you will.
