July’s slate has some major asterisks coming with it. For one, the team back here have included output from American-born jazz vocalist of Rwandan-Ugandan descent—Somi. Though her upcoming album “WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BLOOM?” technically drops in August, the 7th to be precise, its first week rollout is favorable for our coverage of July’s tail end, so there you go.
Otherwise, more conventionally slated on our listing is Kenyan rapper King Kaka’s upcoming album “Year of the Pen” dropping on 3rd July. We’ve had our verdicts about his earlier material, but we’re waiting for this particular drop to let our takes loose!
