Since the turn of this decade, multifaceted Rwandan rapper thedicekid has churned out multiple compelling iterations of his broader artistic vision.

Né Elijah Ntare Shema, some of the 22 year-old’s output has stood out more, on account of sonic brilliance & uniqueness, while another section of his catalog has benefited from collabs he’s sought during that time. From his pre-Spotify early teenage creative experiments to his debut mixtape “Tunes For the Kids” in 2022, he’s dabbled in adventurous fusions of mainstream pop, alternative trap & hip-hop to craft his distinct identity.

Framing his evolution in the context of working with other artists, Get’em Dicey (like he playfully styles himself) has showcased his growth both as part of support rosters on projects by the likes of similar mavericks like Manzi Fleur & Kenny K-Shot, and on his own output with the likes of Kivumbi King & Baby KUU. While at it, his team, an efficient one by the looks of it, has been hard at work to secure him a potent narrative in Rwandan & broader EA alternative media. And he’s not let them down with one banger drop after another, as his latest EP “Infinity Heartbreak” attests.

We’re ravenous over here for more sauce of the same variety, and hope bro’s cheffing up a new joint soon. Get’em!
