Before getting lost in the outworkings of the main idea here and its mark on the scene, #JamSeshThursdays is nothing without the team at its core: Tandeka Mutebi, Ethan Sempa, Carlton Kanyike and Isabella Mayeku.
Since December 2023, the crew have served a slew of weekly jam sessions, four live physical curation joints, a European Union collab activation, Spotify and Apple Music post-sesh playlists, and a docuseries.
Just an acknowledgement at this point. The team at The Culturing’s basically JamSeshConcepts-adjacent. It’s a complimentary type situation but not a case of being identical. All that to say, this isn’t some meta/self-commentary thing, that’d be admittedly odd🤣
That out of the way, it’s been a loaded two & a half years for #JamSeshThursdays. But even then, the team back here have some typa wishlist: equal parts pushing an agenda, equal parts a lighthearted public feedback funnel. First things first, multiple people have reached out noting that there’s been an MJ vs Prince sesh & an MJ-themed solo sesh. But how about a Prince-themed solo sesh. Even better, helmed by the 256’s number one Prince fan Eric Muhumuza. I mean, c’mon!

Additionally, an ardent jam sesh fan raised what seemed like a fine point that the plural in “Concepts” seems to suggest a kinda hybrid between the core essence of queuing music and other possibilities. Is she being a bit too imaginative to think there could be future concepts on top of the existent one, all part of the broader JamSeshConcepts outfit? Well, all this is mere musing. While on that point, another docuseries, this time fan-centric, would bang!
While ruminating on that, speaking of fan-centric, carve out some time to treat yourself to a pretty cool two-year old queue of gems below:
And this totally random still, included for no justifiable reason…

On the real though, #JamSeshThursdays & crew have some pretty cool cultural real estate, suburban online Ug-wise, and that’s no overstatement, can’t wait for some more epic harnessing of that!
