Sheesh, uhm, a lot to unpack here. First, interesting pairing! I mean, the contrasts of it all were always sure to show up on the track itself. You’ve got Izabelug who just has this pure aura about her, for the lack of a better word. She could croon the most sensuous line & still make it have something angelic and elegant about it. On the other hand, you have That Malcolm Guy, who’s no stranger to couching raunchy wordplay now & then in layers of experimental sound. The result is everything you’d imagine and none of it at the same time.

A bit of either artist’s spirit imprints itself onto the track. Izabel’s suave pipes are defo a highlight against the sustained chanty hummings, that are priorly ushered in by funky hip-hop-esque drummy beats. She opts to make talk-styled bars of her initial delivery, but it’s short-lived as she soon launches into typically singing out snappy lines about the delight of the senses. Malcolm, for his part, chants out the number’s title in one of those boppy repetitions he’s (consciously or otherwise) come to define himself by over time. Sonically, it feels like Izabel’s more imposing on the joint than our dude over here. It obviously makes sense, it’s her freaking joint! And yet conceptually, Malcolm seems to be at the helm. He kinda owns the spirit of the piece more boldly.

Speaking of the spirit of the jam, yeah we get it, it’s a sensual number and all. But as earlier hinted, it kinda feels like a lowkey forced thematic template, moreso on Izabel’s part. She held her own best as she could. But c’mon, it’s lowkey jarring, thank goodness it doesn’t go as far as being gimmicky.

Otherwise, it’s an enjoyable joint. Kudos to the pair & the SeptembaKid for cheffing up an adventurous synergy!
